Organized by the Central Election Commission (CEC), through the Office for Political Parties Registration and Certification, a roundtable on "Financial Oversight of Political Parties - The need for institutional coordination" was held, which, in addition to CEC representatives was also attended by the heads of the leaders of Kosovo Anti-Corruption Agency and Tax Administration as well as representatives from the State Prosecution Office.
The purpose of holding this coordination roundtable derives from the recommendations of the European Commission in the 2020 Country Report, which emphasizes the need for better cooperation of the Office for Political Parties Registration and Certification with other competent authorities: National Audit Office, Anti-Corruption Agency, Prosecution Office and the institutions responsible for tax collection.
The Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency, Mr. Yll Buleshkaj, reconfirmed the ACA will enhance cooperation with all institutions participating in the roundtable in the spirit of transparency, legality and international standards for overseeing the finances of political parties.
“The standards and methodology of the Group of States against Corruption (GRECO) of the Council of Europe should serve as a solid and tested basis for our joint work,” said Yll Buleshkaj.
